AirAsia Launches Fixed Fare Initiatives for Lunar New Year and Hari Raya Travel

AirAsia has announced the launch of its annual fixed-fare initiatives to support affordable travel during the upcoming Lunar New Year and Hari Raya festive seasons. The initiatives are being introduced this year concurrently, covering two major travel periods.

During the Lunar New Year and Hari Raya seasons, AirAsia will operate an average of 1,578 flights, offering more than 31,000 seats at fixed fares to support increased travel demand during peak periods.

Loke Siew Fook, Minister of Transport, said that enabling Malaysians to return home affordably during festive seasons remains a key priority. He noted that AirAsia’s fixed fares initiatives align with government efforts to maintain accessible air travel, alongside programmes such as the RM400 FLYsiswa scheme, which supports student travel between Peninsular Malaysia and East Malaysia.

Fareh Mazputra, Chief Executive Officer of AirAsia Malaysia, said the airline is starting the year with two festive travel periods by offering fixed fares for both Lunar New Year and Hari Raya. He added that the initiative is intended to help travellers plan ahead while supporting government efforts to manage high-demand travel periods.

Fixed fare details

For the Lunar New Year period, one-way all-in fares to Sarawak are available from RM328 from Kuala Lumpur to Kuching, Miri, Sibu and Bintulu. Flights to Sabah are available from RM398, with service to Kota Kinabalu, Tawau, and Sandakan. Bookings are open until 24 February 2026, for travel between 13 and 24 February 2026.

For Hari Raya, one-way all-in fares are also set at RM328 to Sarawak and RM398 to Sabah, covering routes from Kuala Lumpur to Kuching, Miri, Sibu, Bintulu, Kota Kinabalu, Tawau and Sandakan. Tickets can be booked until 26 March 2026, for travel between 18 and 26 March 2026.

Over the past three years, AirAsia has made more than 137,000 fixed-fare seats available for travel between Peninsular Malaysia and Sabah and Sarawak. During this period, 761 additional flights were added to routes in East Malaysia to meet increased demand.

Travel tips for guests

Guests travelling during the festive season are encouraged to self-check in via airasia.com or the AirAsia MOVE app up to 14 days before departure and to use the e-Boarding Pass for airport processing. Travellers are advised to arrive early, with baggage drop counters opening three hours before international departures and two hours before domestic flights.

Fixed fares quoted are one-way, all-inclusive prices, including passenger service charges, regulatory fees, fuel surcharges, and applicable taxes. Valid on selected flights only. Terms and conditions apply.
