Air India Wins Multiple Global Travel Awards

Air India Recognized for Onboard Experience and Passenger Comfort

Air India has received multiple international travel industry awards, recognising improvements across its onboard services, passenger comfort, entertainment and food and beverage offerings. The awards come as the airline continues its transformation programme, with a focus on enhancing the customer experience across its network.

Among the recognitions are awards from the Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX), PAX International, PAX Tech, TravelPlus, and the Cellars in the Sky Awards 2026.

APEX recognizes onboard beverage and entertainment

Air India received the APEX Best Onboard Beverage (Hot) award for its Cutting Chai, served in First and Business Class cabins on international flights. The beverage has become a familiar part of the airline’s premium onboard service, offering passengers a traditional Indian tea experience.

The airline also won the APEX Best Entertainment – Central/Southern Asia award for its inflight entertainment system. Air India’s entertainment library currently includes more than 3,000 hours of content, featuring over 1,500 hours of video and 1,500 hours of audio, with a selection of Bollywood, Hollywood and regional films, television programmes, music and podcasts.

Recognition for comfort and inflight technology

Air India’s cabin upgrades were further recognised by PAX International with the Readership Award for Best First-Class Bedding & Soft Products (South Asia). The award acknowledges improvements made to the airline’s First-Class bedding, fabrics and overall sleep experience.

The airline also received the PAX Tech Readership Award for Best IFE & Connectivity (South Asia) for Vista Stream, its wireless inflight entertainment platform. The system enables passengers to stream films, television programmes, music and podcasts directly to their personal devices during the flight.

Premium Economy recognized at TravelPlus Awards

Air India was also presented with the TravelPlus 2026 Gold Award for Premium Economy Bedding & Comfort Products, recognising enhancements made to the airline’s Premium Economy cabin and its focus on improving passenger comfort across different travel classes.

Beverage programme receives international recognition

The airline’s beverage programme was recognized at the Cellars in the Sky Awards 2026, where Air India received a Silver Award in the Business Class Sparkling Wine category for serving Charles Heidsieck Brut Réserve Champagne. The award, judged through independent blind tastings by wine experts, highlights the quality of the airline’s curated beverage selection in Business Class.

Air India said these recognitions reflect the collective efforts of its teams across product development, cabin service, technology, food and beverage, and customer experience. As the airline continues its transformation, the awards acknowledge progress in enhancing the overall passenger experience.
