Air India Board Discusses CEO Transition and Financial Measures

Air India’s board of directors met in New Delhi on Thursday as the airline continues to face operational and financial pressure linked to the ongoing West Asia conflict.

According to reports, the meeting included discussions around the airline’s financial position, cost-management measures, and future operational planning as rising fuel prices and regional airspace restrictions continue to impact international airline operations.

Sources indicated that leadership transition plans were also likely to be discussed during the meeting, with current Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Campbell Wilson expected to step down later this year.

The airline has been dealing with increased operational costs in recent months, particularly due to higher aviation fuel prices and route disruptions caused by geopolitical tensions in the Middle East. These developments have affected flight operations and overall operating expenses for several international carriers operating through the region.
