Air India Adds Additional Flights to Europe, New York, Maldives and Colombo Amid West Asia Situation

Air India has announced plans to operate additional flights to several international destinations in response to continued demand for travel options during the ongoing situation in West Asia. The airline will add services to five European gateways, New York (JFK), as well as routes to the Maldives and Colombo over the coming days.

Between 10 and 18 March 2026, Air India will operate 78 additional flights across nine routes. The added capacity is intended to provide more travel options for passengers at a time when some international routes and connections remain affected.

The additional services will connect Delhi and Mumbai with London (Heathrow), Frankfurt, Paris (Charles de Gaulle), Amsterdam, Zurich, and New York (JFK), as well as regional routes from Delhi to Malé and Colombo.

In total, the airline will add 17,660 seats across these routes in both directions.

Flights on the European routes will be operated using Boeing 787-8 aircraft, while services to Malé and Colombo will be operated using Airbus A320neo aircraft. The planned flights to New York (JFK) are subject to regulatory approvals and are expected to operate using Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.
