Accor and Shoreline Group Sign Agreement for Nigeria Hotel Development

Accor and Shoreline Group have signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) to establish a national hotel platform in Nigeria. The announcement was made during the Africa Forward Summit 2026 held in Nairobi and jointly hosted by Kenya and France.

The partnership includes a planned USD 300 million investment by Shoreline Group and aims to support the development of hospitality infrastructure nationwide.

Under the proposed plan, the collaboration will focus on building a network of 10 hotels across eight cities in Nigeria by 2030, representing more than 1,200 rooms. The portfolio is expected to include properties across different market segments, from midscale to luxury accommodation, serving a range of traveller needs.

The project also includes plans for a hospitality training academy designed to support workforce development and create around 1,000 direct employment opportunities.

Sébastien Bazin, Chairman and CEO of Accor, said the partnership reflects the company’s commitment to Nigeria and its long-term development plans in the region. He added that combining local market understanding with international hospitality experience would support the growth of the proposed hotel network. He also noted that the planned academy would play an important role in developing hospitality talent and strengthening training opportunities in West Africa.

Kola Karim, Chairman of Shoreline Group, said the initiative aligns with the company’s strategy of building infrastructure platforms across Africa. He added that hospitality infrastructure can support economic activity and long-term development, while the academy would help build a stronger hospitality workforce within Nigeria.
