Accor and Risma Strengthen Partnership to Support Tourism in Morocco
New projects focus on hotel development, renovation and training
Accor and Risma have announced an expansion of their long-standing partnership, following a recent visit to Morocco by Sébastien Bazin.
The two groups have worked together for more than 3 decades and are now focusing on new initiatives to support the development of Morocco’s tourism and hospitality sector.
Planned developments and investments
As part of the renewed collaboration, several projects have been outlined:
- Sofitel Tangier: A new hotel is planned on the city’s corniche, adding to Tangier’s hospitality offering.
- Hotel renovations: Existing properties within the portfolio will undergo refurbishment and repositioning to align with current market requirements.
- Training academy: Accor and Risma will jointly establish a tourism and hospitality training academy to support skills development and professional integration within the sector.
These initiatives are intended to strengthen infrastructure, improve operational standards and support workforce development.
Focus on long-term growth

Following structural changes to their partnership in 2023, both companies have reiterated their intention to continue expanding in Morocco through a shared strategy.
The collaboration will also place emphasis on human capital, with training and employment initiatives designed to support industry professionals and future talent.
Role in Morocco’s tourism landscape

Accor and Risma aim to contribute to the ongoing development of Morocco’s tourism sector through a combination of hotel expansion, refurbishment and skills training.
The strengthened partnership aligns with broader efforts to strengthen Morocco’s position as a travel destination, particularly as the country prepares for increased international attention in the coming years.
