Accor and Risma Strengthen Partnership to Support Tourism in Morocco

Accor Strengthens Moroccan Presence with Expanded Partnership

New projects focus on hotel development, renovation and training

Accor and Risma have announced an expansion of their long-standing partnership, following a recent visit to Morocco by Sébastien Bazin.

The two groups have worked together for more than 3 decades and are now focusing on new initiatives to support the development of Morocco’s tourism and hospitality sector.

Planned developments and investments

Accor and Risma strengthen partnership to boost Moroccan tourism with new  Sofitel in Tangier

As part of the renewed collaboration, several projects have been outlined:

  • Sofitel Tangier: A new hotel is planned on the city’s corniche, adding to Tangier’s hospitality offering.
  • Hotel renovations: Existing properties within the portfolio will undergo refurbishment and repositioning to align with current market requirements.
  • Training academy: Accor and Risma will jointly establish a tourism and hospitality training academy to support skills development and professional integration within the sector.

These initiatives are intended to strengthen infrastructure, improve operational standards and support workforce development.

Following structural changes to their partnership in 2023, both companies have reiterated their intention to continue expanding in Morocco through a shared strategy.

The collaboration will also place emphasis on human capital, with training and employment initiatives designed to support industry professionals and future talent.
