Emirates Appoints Khalid Al Zarooni as Country Manager for the Philippines

Emirates has appointed Khalid Al Zarooni as Country Manager for the Philippines, where he will oversee the airline’s commercial operations.
Al Zarooni joined Emirates in 2006 and has developed an international career across Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. Most recently, he served as Vice President for Saudi Arabia, a role he assumed in 2024.

Over his tenure with the airline, he has held commercial and leadership roles in markets including Cyprus, Uganda, Tanzania, Morocco, Greece, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia. His experience spans commercial strategy, corporate sales, stakeholder engagement, and government relations, along with leading multicultural teams across diverse regions.
His work has been recognised within the Emirates network, including team acknowledgements such as the Top Sales Team Award in Morocco and the Top Corporate Award in Saudi Arabia. During his time in Greece, he also served as President and Chairperson of the Board of Airline Representatives.
Al Zarooni holds an MBA from the University of Wolverhampton, England.
Commenting on his appointment, Al Zarooni said, “The Philippines has long been one of Emirates’ key markets in Southeast Asia. Building on Emirates’ 36-year presence in the country, I look forward to working with our customers, travel trade partners and stakeholders to unlock new opportunities for growth and further strengthen the brand’s position in the market.”
The appointment comes as the airlines continues to expand its operations in the Philippines, including increased flight frequencies connecting Manila, Cebu, and Clark with its global network via Dubai.
