Air India Adds Third Boeing 787-9 to Fleet
Air India Fleet Grows with Arrival of Third Boeing 787-9 Aircraft
Air India has added VT-AWC, its third factory-built Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, to its fleet as part of the airline’s ongoing fleet renewal programme.
The aircraft completed a non-stop flight of 17 hours and 14 minutes from Boeing’s production facility in Charleston, South Carolina, to Delhi, where it arrived on 4 July 2026.
The latest addition further supports Air India’s plans to expand and modernize its widebody fleet, strengthening its long-haul operations.
The aircraft is configured with a three-class cabin, offering 30 Business Class suites, 28 Premium Economy seats and 238 Economy seats.
Passengers will also have access to Thales’ AVANT Up inflight entertainment system, providing a range of onboard entertainment options throughout their journey.
The induction of VT-AWC marks another step in the airline’s fleet expansion as it continues to introduce new-generation aircraft across its network.
