InterContinental Chennai Mahabalipuram Resort Announces Key Leadership Appointments Across Executive Team

InterContinental Chennai Mahabalipuram Resort has announced a series of leadership appointments across its executive team, strengthening key functions including operations, culinary, sales and marketing, finance, human resources, and guest services.

Anand Nair- Appointed as General Manager

Anand Nair, General Manager, returns to lead the resort through its next phase, including a multi-million-dollar renovation and relaunch. A hospitality professional with over three decades of experience, Anand began his career in 1995 as a Management Trainee with The Leela Hotels, Palaces & Resorts at The Leela Kempinski, Mumbai. He has since held roles with The Taj Group of Hotels across Sri Lanka, Nashik, Taj Gateway, and Taj Residency Bangalore.

He later joined Sarovar Hotels in Kerala as General Manager, where he led the launch of a backwater resort and focused on operations, guest experience, and brand visibility over an eight-year tenure. Anand previously served within IHG Hotels & Resorts as General Manager of InterContinental Chennai Mahabalipuram Resort and Crowne Plaza Chennai Adyar Park, where he played a key leadership role during the COVID-19 period. He also led Crowne Plaza Chennai Adyar Park for four years and received the IHG Owners Impact Award for General Manager of the Year three times across the India, Middle East, and Africa region.

Suchir Jindal- Associate Director of Marketing

Suchir Jindal has been appointed as Associate Director of Marketing. Suchir brings over a decade of experience in marketing analytics, digital strategy, and integrated marketing communications. His career spans leadership roles with renowned names including Marriott’s Fiji portfolio, AccorHotels, Sarovar Hotels & Resorts, Sayaji Hotels Ltd, and Fariyas Hotels & Resorts, where he has led marketing initiatives across multiple properties. He specialises in performance marketing, content strategy, and digital brand positioning.

Deepak Dua- Director of Food & Beverage

Deepak Dua has been appointed Director of Food & Beverage, bringing over 18 years of experience across luxury hospitality brands. His previous roles include leadership positions at Atmosphere Kanifushi Maldives, Crowne Plaza New Delhi Okhla, The Lalit Golf & Spa Resort Goa, and Crowne Plaza Muscat OCEC. He specialises in F&B operations, concept development, and revenue growth.

Sam Williams- Director of Catering Sales

Sam William joins the team with nearly two decades of experience across hospitality sales, events, marketing, and operations. He was previously associated with Park Hyatt Chennai as Associate Director of Events and has also worked with Taj Connemara, The Westin Chennai Velachery, and Phoenix Marketcity. His expertise includes event execution, strategic planning, and client relationship management.

Meril Antony Aricatt- Executive Chef

Chef Meril Antony Aricatt brings more than 30 years of culinary experience across IHCL and IHG. Over the course of his career, he has held leadership roles at Taj Malabar Resort & Spa, Taj Fisherman’s Cove Resort & Spa, Vivanta Chennai OMR, Taj Connemara, and Gateway Hotel Vijayawada. He has led international food festivals, served as an Asian Chef aboard the Queen Elizabeth 2, and curated menus for global dignitaries, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Xi Jinping.

These appointments reflect InterContinental Chennai’s focus on strengthening its leadership team as it prepares for its next phase of growth and repositioning in the luxury hospitality segment.
