IHG Signs First Kimpton Hotel in Madrid
Kimpton Madrid Set to Open in Salamanca District by 2030
IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed its first Kimpton-branded hotel in Madrid in partnership with El Corte Inglés. The project, advised by Colliers Hotels Iberia, marks the brand’s entry into Spain’s capital and supports IHG’s continued expansion of its luxury and lifestyle portfolio in the country.
The new Kimpton hotel will be located at Goya Street 89 in Madrid’s Salamanca district, an area known for its shopping, dining and cultural attractions. Scheduled to open in mid-2030, the hotel will feature 106 guest rooms within a heritage building in the heart of the city.
Facilities will include a ground-floor restaurant, spa, indoor swimming pool, rooftop bar and rooftop restaurant with views across Madrid’s skyline and historic architecture.
The signing adds to Kimpton’s presence in Spain, where the brand already operates hotels in Barcelona, Mallorca and Marbella. The Madrid property will further strengthen the brand’s footprint in key urban destinations across the country.
Designed to reflect local culture and character, the hotel will incorporate Kimpton’s hospitality approach through design, food and beverage experiences, and guest-focused programming inspired by the city.

Willemijn Geels, Vice President, Development, Europe, IHG Hotels & Resorts, said the signing represents an important step in the company’s plans to expand its luxury and lifestyle portfolio across Europe while strengthening its presence in Spain.
Madrid’s tourism sector continued to grow in 2025, with international visitor spending reaching €17.9 billion, according to Spain’s National Institute of Statistics (INE). The hotel’s central location is expected to attract both domestic and international travellers visiting the city.
The addition of Kimpton Madrid supports IHG’s wider expansion strategy across Europe, where the company continues to grow its luxury and lifestyle hotel portfolio in major gateway cities.
