Alaska Air Group Appoints Mike Sievert to Board of Directors

Alaska Air Group, Inc. has appointed Mike Sievert to its board of directors.

Sievert is the former Chief Executive Officer of T-Mobile and currently serves as Vice Chairman of its board. He brings experience in corporate leadership, marketing, and business strategy across the telecommunications and technology sectors.

During his tenure at T-Mobile, Sievert was involved in the company’s growth and market expansion within the U.S. wireless industry, with a focus on customer engagement and business performance. He joined T-Mobile in 2012 as Chief Marketing Officer and later assumed the role of CEO.

Sievert has also held leadership positions at Microsoft, AT&T, E*TRADE, IBM, and Procter & Gamble. He currently serves on the board of directors of Starbucks.

Based in the Seattle region, Sievert has longstanding ties to the local business community. He is also a licensed pilot with an interest in aviation.

At Alaska Air Group, Sievert will serve on the Innovation and Safety committees. His appointment brings the company’s board to 10 independent directors, alongside CEO Ben Minicucci, who serves as a non-independent director.

Board members are elected annually at the company’s annual meeting of stockholders.
