Summit Hotels & Resorts to Launch ‘The Summit’ in Siliguri, Marking Entry into Urban Luxury Segment

Summit Hotels & Resorts has announced its entrance into the luxury hotel market with the launch of its flagship brand, The Summit, in Siliguri. Scheduled to open in May 2027, this property signifies the company’s transition from a mountain-focused portfolio to an urban setting.

The Summit, located in central Siliguri and serving as the gateway to Darjeeling, Sikkim, and Bhutan, is designed as a 100-room urban resort. Each room will feature a private balcony. The resort, designed by Vivek Singh Rathore, a partner at Salient, will blend contemporary design with elements of Eastern India’s culture and natural surroundings. Additionally, it will serve as the headquarters for the brand.

The property is designed to accommodate large weddings, corporate events, and leisure travel. It features banquet facilities that can host up to 2,000 guests, with multiple indoor and outdoor venues available. There will be accommodations for large groups, along with comprehensive event planning services. For corporate clients, the property will provide advanced conference technology and meeting spaces.

The dining options will feature a variety of regional Himalayan dishes, international cuisine, rooftop dining, and poolside grills. A wellness center will provide both traditional and modern therapies. Recreational facilities will include pickleball and squash courts, a multi-sport ground, indoor gaming areas, and a fitness center. Additionally, the resort will feature a nightclub and lounge offering stunning views of the city and surrounding mountains.

Summit Hotels & Resorts plans to incorporate sustainability features into The Summit, including water conservation, renewable energy solutions, and collaboration with local artisans and suppliers. The project is anticipated to create over 300 local jobs.
