Wyndham Expands ECHO Suites Portfolio with 20th Opening
ECHO Suites Growth Reflects Rising Demand for Extended Stay
Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has reached a new milestone with the opening of its 20th ECHO Suites Extended Stay hotel, marking continued expansion of its purpose-built extended stay brand. The latest property in Bozeman, Montana, follows recent openings in Springfield, Missouri; Colorado Springs, Colorado; and Round Rock, Texas, as the brand extends its footprint across the United States.
Launched in 2024, ECHO Suites was developed in collaboration with experienced extended stay developers, focusing on efficiency and long-term guest needs. The brand has shown steady performance, with properties open for at least six months reporting average occupancy levels above 70% as of Q1 2026, while more established locations are exceeding 80%.
The 20-hotel milestone reflects growing developer participation and the scalability of the brand’s construction and operating model. Alongside ECHO Suites, Wyndham’s extended stay portfolio also includes Hawthorn Extended Stay by Wyndham and WaterWalk by Wyndham. In 2025, the company recorded over 60 new project signings across its extended stay brands, including 20 under ECHO Suites, bringing the development pipeline to approximately 45,000 rooms.

According to Mike Mueller, President of Extended Stay Brands at Wyndham, the company has already surpassed its initial goal of 300 executed contracts by 2027. He noted that the pace of openings, including the Bozeman location, reflects consistent developer interest and aligns with projections of continued growth in the extended stay segment over the coming years.
ECHO Suites properties are designed with operational efficiency in mind. Hotels typically span around 50,000 square feet, with roughly 74% allocated to rentable space, and guest rooms averaging 300 square feet. Stays are predominantly long-term, with more than 70% of guests staying for over a week and over half for over 60 days. These trends are driven by project-based work, relocations and other extended travel needs.

Paige York, owner and developer of the Bozeman property, stated that the project aligned with local demand for long-term accommodation and was supported by Wyndham’s operating model and distribution network.
Looking ahead, Wyndham expects further expansion, with around a dozen additional ECHO Suites hotels currently under development. The company has set a long-term target of 300 hotels open or under construction by 2032.
The brand’s growth is supported by Wyndham’s broader platform, including ongoing investment in technology and tools such as Wyndham Connect, which aim to improve operational efficiency, increase direct bookings, and support franchisees.
Infrastructure investment in the United States is also expected to boost demand for extended-stay accommodations. With significant federal spending anticipated under initiatives such as the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and the CHIPS and Science Act, Wyndham estimates an incremental $3.3 billion in room revenue for its franchise network, reinforcing extended stay as a key area of focus for the company.
