WOTF Group and TAFI Western India Host Agent Education Tour to Greece
World of Travel Factory (WOTF Group), in collaboration with the TAFI Western India Chapter, recently conducted an agent education tour to Athens, timed to the launch of IndiGo’s inaugural direct flight from Mumbai to Athens.
The initiative brought together 17 travel professionals from TAFI’s Western India membership to leverage improved air connectivity to expand Greece’s position in the Indian outbound travel market. The programme focused on destination education and practical product understanding to support long-term trade engagement.
The six-day itinerary highlighted Athens and Rhodes as complementary destinations. Athens was positioned as a 2–3 night experiential city stay, while Rhodes was introduced as a culturally rich island offering experiences beyond traditional Greek travel circuits. Agents explored key attractions, including the Acropolis and the Acropolis Museum; participated in a full-day cruise to the Argosaronic Gulf islands of Aegina, Poros, and Hydra; and undertook an in-depth tour of Rhodes’ medieval Old Town, including the Grand Master’s Palace.
Additional experiences included visits to Lindos, Kallithea Springs, the 9D Throne of Helios experience, and curated dining programmes, such as a traditional Greek folklore dinner. These activities provided firsthand exposure to Greece’s ability to deliver diverse, multi-destination itineraries for travellers with varied interests.

In India, WOTF Group is represented by Global Destinations, which continues to support destination education, trade outreach, and market development initiatives for Greece. Commenting on the tour, Pranav Kapadia, Founder and Director of Global Destinations, noted that the introduction of direct air connectivity between India and Greece has created new opportunities for the outbound market. He added that experiential exposure across Athens and Rhodes enables travel professionals to better understand Greece’s diversity and curate itineraries aligned with evolving Indian traveller preferences.
Nikolas Kavalieros, CEO of WOTF Group, said the programme was designed to reinforce Greece’s positioning as a year-round destination, with a focus on cultural depth and seasonal flexibility. By engaging agents during the winter period, the tour highlighted Greece’s appeal for honeymooners and families seeking immersive cultural experiences in a less crowded travel season.
Overall, the initiative demonstrated a collaborative approach to destination development, combining enhanced air access, structured trade education, and on-ground experiences to strengthen Greece’s presence in India’s growing outbound travel market.
