Three Everyday Ways to Make the Most of Your SkyMiles Membership
As SkyMiles members enter the second half of the year, whether they are planning fall trips, booking holiday travel, or checking their progress toward rewards goals, Delta’s loyalty program provides several options to earn and redeem rewards beyond just flights.
1. Earn toward Medallion Status
Members can continue working toward Medallion Qualification Dollars (MQDs) through Delta and partner flights, eligible spending on Delta SkyMiles American Express Cards, and bookings with Delta Vacations. MQD thresholds for 2027 Medallion Status remain unchanged, and eligible Delta SkyMiles American Express Card Members receive a $2,500 MQD Headstart per Card type each qualification year. Delta also offers a Medallion Status Match Challenge for travellers with elite status on other airlines.
2. Turn daily purchases into miles
Miles can be earned through Delta’s partner network:
Uber and Uber Eats: Members who link their accounts earn up to 3 miles per eligible dollar spent in the U.S. Terms apply.
SkyMiles Dining: By linking a credit or debit card, Members earn up to 5 miles per dollar at thousands of participating restaurants, with no cap on total miles earned. New users can also earn a 1,000-mile bonus after their first qualifying dine. Terms apply.
SkyMiles Shopping: More than 1,000 online retailers participate. The SkyMiles Shopping browser extension alerts Members when miles are available.
Additional opportunities include Delta Vacations, cruises, hotels, car rentals, and other travel products, allowing Members to both earn and redeem miles across various categories.
3. Redeem miles for experiences
These Experiences allow Members to use miles for activities such as sporting events, culinary experiences, wellness programs, and more. Beginning November 18, the platform will expand with additional opportunities, including the Card Member Collection, which offers exclusive experiences for Delta American Express Card Members through mileage bidding.
