Thailand Adds Five Norse Atlantic Airways Routes from Europe for 2025/2026 Winter Season
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has welcomed the launch of five new direct services by Norse Atlantic Airways, expanding air access from the United Kingdom, Sweden, and Norway to Bangkok and Phuket for the 2025/2026 winter season. This expansion strengthens Thailand’s long-haul connectivity from Europe and supports the government’s “Big Impact, Act Fast” policy to encourage international arrivals.
Mrs. Chiravadee Khunsub, TAT Deputy Governor for International Marketing – Europe, America, Middle East, and Africa, said: “The addition of these Norse Atlantic Airways routes reflects growing interest in Thailand as a long-haul destination. The new services offer travellers from the UK and Northern Europe more convenient options while supporting TAT’s strategy to diversify source markets and extend visitor stays.”
Founded in 2021, Norse Atlantic Airways operates long-haul flights using Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners with 338 seats. The new routes include:
London Gatwick–Bangkok: From 26 October 2025, 3–5 weekly flights, with year-round service from April 2026.
Manchester–Bangkok: From 26 November 2025, weekly flights until March 2026.
Stockholm–Bangkok: Twice-weekly flights from 22 October 2025, increasing to four weekly flights from December.
Stockholm–Phuket: Weekly flights from 4 December 2025.
Oslo–Phuket: Weekly flights from 8 December 2025.
The inaugural Stockholm–Bangkok flight was fully booked and welcomed at Suvarnabhumi Airport by TAT executives and Mr. Bård Nordhagen, Chief Commercial Officer of Norse Atlantic Airways.
Other carriers are also adding services this winter, including Arkia Israeli Airlines (Tel Aviv–Bangkok) and Air France (Paris–Phuket). Etihad Airways has launched Abu Dhabi–Krabi flights, and United Airlines will resume Los Angeles–Bangkok service, restoring direct US connectivity.

Thailand continues to see growth in arrivals from the UK and Sweden. From January to September 2025, the country welcomed 757,960 visitors from the UK (up 13.7% year-on-year) and 145,188 visitors from Sweden (up 8.6%). Swedish travellers spend an average of 65,000 Baht per trip with an average stay of 19.9 days, generating around 14.6 billion Baht in revenue. Forward bookings indicate continued interest in Thailand for the winter and early 2026.
