Ms. Patsee Permvongsenee, Executive Director for ASEAN, South Asia, and South Pacific at TAT, said the initiative reflects Thailand’s ongoing focus on responsible tourism by connecting international travel trade partners with local tourism operators.

According to TAT, the project is designed to introduce its responsible tourism experiences to wider markets, support trade and media engagement, and create business opportunities for tourism operators across southern Thailand.

The trade meet brought together 22 tourism operators from Krabi, Phang-nga, and Surat Thani. A total of 19 overseas travel trade partners from India, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Australia attended the business sessions to explore product development and partnership opportunities. The programme also included 16 media representatives, content creators, bloggers, KOLs, and influencers from these markets.

The event featured market briefings by TAT overseas directors, presentations on tourism products from southern Thailand, B2B meetings, and networking sessions to expand international sales opportunities for responsible tourism products.

As part of the wider familiarisation programme held from 6–13 May, buyers and media representatives visited tourism routes across Krabi, Phang-nga, Surat Thani, and Phuket to experience responsible tourism offerings first-hand.

Featured experiences included Ban Nai Nang Tourism Community, Princeville Spa, Pansook Eco Store & Tea Room, Mount to Mount Homestead & Garden, Wareerak Hot Spring and Wellness, Thung Yee Pheng Ecotourism Community, and Ban Sam Chong Nuea Community Enterprise.

These experiences highlighted community tourism, wellness, local enterprises, and nature-based activities that comprise Thailand’s responsible tourism portfolio.
