The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has announced that the fourth edition of the Thailand Biennale will take place in Phuket from November 2025 to April 2026, inviting audiences to experience contemporary art in dialogue with the island’s landscapes and communities.

“Phuket has long been one of Thailand’s valued destinations, known for its natural environment, cultural diversity and hospitality,” said Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, TAT Governor.

“Hosting the Thailand Biennale here will highlight the island’s profile while showing how art and sustainability can connect. Visitors will be able to encounter contemporary works while exploring Phuket in new ways.”

Organised by the Office of Contemporary Art and Culture (OCAC), Ministry of Culture, the Biennale will unfold across the island’s three districts — Mueang, Kathu and Thalang. Themed Eternal Kalpa, the programme will examine enduring connections between people and nature, focusing on ideas of love, memory and sustainability.

Artist-led pavilions, known as “Salas,” will serve as spaces for experimentation and dialogue, complementing the main exhibitions. The event will feature 65 artists and collectives from 25 countries, showcasing both international practitioners and emerging Thai voices. The curatorial team—comprised of Arin Rungjang, David Teh, Marisa Phandharakrajadej, and Hera Chan—will create a program that engages with local histories while also addressing broader global conversations.

Since its launch in 2018, the Thailand Biennale has moved between various provinces to showcase the unique cultural and geographical characteristics of each location. After successful editions in Krabi (2018), Nakhon Ratchasima (2021), and Chiang Rai (2023), Phuket is set to host the fourth edition in 2025–26.
