Summit Launches Mandir Collection with First Property in Salasar

Mandir Collection Marks Summit’s Entry into Spiritual Tourism Hospitality
Summit Hotels & Resorts has announced the launch of The Mandir Collection, a new hospitality brand focused on pilgrimage destinations and travel experiences rooted in spirituality, culture, and wellness.
The launch reflects growing interest in spiritual tourism across India, supported by improved connectivity, infrastructure development and increasing demand for faith-based and wellness-oriented travel.
The first property under the new brand is planned for Salasar, a prominent pilgrimage destination in Rajasthan. The upcoming hotel, Summit Salasar – The Mandir Collection, is being developed as a retreat designed for devotees, families, wellness travellers and group gatherings.
The property is expected to offer around 70 rooms and villas, including private pool villas. Planned facilities include a Satvik dining venue, temple assistance services, wellness experiences, devotional evening programmes, banquet and outdoor event spaces, and convenient access to the Salasar Balaji Temple.

Commenting on the development, Sumit Mitruka, CEO of Summit Hotels & Resorts, said spiritual travel is becoming an increasingly important segment within India’s tourism industry, with travellers combining religious visits with interests in wellness, culture and personal enrichment.
He added that The Mandir Collection aims to create hospitality experiences that reflect the character and traditions of each destination while providing the comfort and services expected by modern travellers.
Following the Salasar project, Summit Hotels & Resorts plans to expand The Mandir Collection across selected pilgrimage circuits and faith-focused destinations. The company is currently evaluating opportunities in locations such as Haridwar and Ayodhya, as well as other destinations associated with spiritual tourism.
Founded in 2009, Summit Hotels & Resorts operates more than 30 hotels and resorts across over 17 destinations in India. The company has established a presence in hill stations and leisure markets across East India and is now broadening its portfolio to include temple towns and emerging travel destinations.
The group employs more than 1,000 people, many of whom are recruited from local communities. Its long-term plans include expanding its portfolio to 50 properties by 2030, introducing specialised hospitality brands and increasing direct bookings through digital platforms.
