Effotel by Sayaji Expands Hospitality Presence in Gangtok

Sayaji Hotels has announced the launch of Effotel by Sayaji in Gangtok, marking the group’s entry into the Sikkim hospitality market.

Located in the Tathangchen area near Ridge Park, the hotel offers access to key attractions, including MG Marg and central Gangtok. Positioned at an altitude of around 1,650 metres, Gangtok is known for its mountain landscapes, monasteries and views of Mt Kanchenjunga.

Effotel by Sayaji features 32 rooms across categories, including Deluxe King, Deluxe Twin and Suite accommodations. The hotel has been designed with a contemporary layout aimed at both leisure and business travellers visiting the region.

The property also includes The Cube, an all-day dining restaurant serving a multi-cuisine menu in a casual dining setting.

Rajendra Joshi, Associate General Manager at Sayaji Hotels, said the launch reflects the group’s focus on expanding into leisure destinations across India while offering well-connected accommodation options for travellers visiting Gangtok.

Sangay Tenzing Norbu, Managing Director and owner of the property, said the hotel aims to combine regional hospitality with the service standards associated with the Sayaji brand.

The hotel is approximately 130 km from Bagdogra Airport and 120 km from New Jalpaiguri Railway Station, offering road connectivity to Gangtok and nearby destinations.

With this opening, Sayaji Hotels continues to strengthen its presence in emerging travel markets across India.
