Renaissance Chicago Downtown Hotel Appoints Kristen Hammac as General Manager

Renaissance Chicago Downtown Hotel has announced the appointment of Kristen Hammac as General Manager, bringing over 27 years of hospitality leadership experience to the property.

In her new role, Hammac will oversee all aspects of hotel operations, including guest rooms, food and beverage outlets, and meetings and events. The property features venues such as the rooftop bar Raised and Staytion Market & Bar.
Hammac most recently served as Market Vice President, where she oversaw Marriott Select Brand properties across six states. She returns to the Renaissance brand following previous leadership roles within the portfolio.
Earlier, she served as General Manager at Renaissance Orlando at SeaWorld®, where she led operational initiatives including the launch of a new marketplace concept and supported growth in ancillary revenue. She also held the position of General Manager at Marriott Stanton South Beach, where the hotel achieved strong performance metrics during her tenure.
Hammac began her career in the rooms division before transitioning into sales and marketing. Since joining Marriott International in 2013, she has held senior leadership roles including Director of Sales & Marketing at JW Marriott Washington, D.C. and Renaissance Washington, D.C. Downtown.
She is also involved in professional development initiatives and has supported mentorship programmes focused on advancing women in hospitality.
Her appointment reflects the hotel’s focus on strengthening leadership to support operational performance and guest experience.
