Regent Shanghai Hosts Key Events During Shanghai Film Festival

Regent has been named the Official Hotel Partner of the 28th Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF), which will take place from 12 to 21 June 2026. As part of the partnership, Regent Shanghai on the Bund will host the festival’s Official Opening Gala Dinner, bringing together filmmakers, actors and industry professionals at the hotel overlooking the Huangpu River.

The collaboration marks the latest chapter in Regent’s association with major film and cultural events, following partnerships with the Hong Kong Film Awards and the Festival de Cannes. Through these engagements, the brand continues to strengthen its connection with the international film community.

A key feature of the partnership is the introduction of the SIFF PROJECT Regent Presents “Cinematic Escapes” Special Focus Award. The initiative has been designed to support emerging filmmakers by providing a platform for new creative voices and film projects.

During the festival, Regent Shanghai on the Bund will serve as a venue for industry gatherings and hospitality events. Guests attending the Opening Gala Dinner will experience menus created by Executive Chefs Ting Wai Wan and Lorenzo Merolle, alongside views of Shanghai’s skyline and waterfront.

The collaboration also highlights Regent’s growing presence within China and the broader Asia-Pacific region. Regent Shanghai on the Bund joins other properties within the brand’s portfolio, including Regent Hong Kong and Carlton Cannes, a Regent Hotel, both of which have longstanding associations with film-related events.

Throughout the Shanghai International Film Festival, guests staying at Regent Shanghai on the Bund will have access to a series of limited-edition culinary offerings inspired by the event. These include the SIFF-themed “GILDED FRAMES” cocktail and the “Entering the Frame” chocolate creation, available exclusively during the festival period.

Regent Hong Kong has served as the official hotel partner of the Hong Kong Film Awards for three consecutive years, hosting award-related events and introducing themed food-and-beverage concepts tied to the ceremony.

Meanwhile, Carlton Cannes, a Regent Hotel, continues its longstanding relationship with the Cannes film community. The hotel hosted the first International Film Festival in 1946 and remains closely connected to the Festival de Cannes through a range of events and partnerships.
