Qatar Airways Expands Africa Flight Network

Qatar Airways Africa Services Add New Routes and Frequencies

Qatar Airways will expand its Africa operations from June and July 2026 with resumed routes, additional frequencies and a new service to Port Sudan.

From 16 June 2026, the airline will restart four weekly flights to Seychelles and two weekly flights to Kigali. Daily flights to Marrakesh will begin from 1 July 2026.

The airline is also increasing flight frequencies across several African destinations. Services to Alexandria will rise from three weekly flights to seven, while Cairo will increase from 28 to 35 weekly flights.

Flights to Cape Town will increase from 7 to 10 weekly services, and flights to Dar es Salaam will expand from 3 to 7 weekly services.

Qatar Airways will also raise frequencies on its Lusaka–Harare route from five to seven weekly flights and increase services on the Maputo–Durban route from four to seven weekly flights.

In addition, the airline will launch three weekly flights between Doha and Port Sudan from 2 July 2026. The new route is expected to support passenger connectivity between Sudan and markets across the Middle East and Southeast Asia through Hamad International Airport.

The Port Sudan service will operate every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Flight QR1319 will depart Doha at 09:00 and arrive in Port Sudan at 11:00, while the return QR1320 service will depart Port Sudan at 12:25 and arrive in Doha at 16:20.

Qatar Airways said the network expansion forms part of its plans to strengthen connectivity across more than 160 destinations worldwide.
