PATA India Chapter Announces Fourth Edition of Tourism PowerHouse in New Delhi

The PATA India Chapter has announced the fourth edition of the Tourism PowerHouse, to be presented by the Inder Sharma Foundation and supported by the Ministry of Tourism. The forum is scheduled to take place on 8 January 2026 at ITC Maurya.

Positioned as a knowledge and advocacy platform for the tourism sector, the Tourism PowerHouse brings together global tourism leaders, senior policymakers, and decision-makers from across India’s travel, hospitality, and destination ecosystem. The programme is designed to encourage dialogue, share international perspectives, and discuss strategic approaches to strengthening India’s destination competitiveness.

The continued involvement of the Inder Sharma Foundation reflects the legacy of the late Inder Sharma, whose work in the tourism sector emphasised informed decision-making, the use of data, and learning from global practices to support long-term growth.

The 2026 edition will be held under the theme “Accelerating Tourism for Tomorrow: Powered by Data and Knowledge”, focusing on the role of insights and research in shaping tourism strategies as India looks to strengthen its position in the global tourism landscape.

The forum will feature participation from Noor Hamid, CEO of the Pacific Asia Travel Association, and Suman Billa, Additional Secretary and Director General of Tourism. They will be joined by international experts and industry leaders including Senthil Gopinath, Haiyan Song, Alan Merschen, Olivier Ponti, Anita Mendiratta, Matt Gibson, Ludwig Rieder, and Narzalina Lim.

The PATA Tourism PowerHouse is intended to support national and state-level tourism objectives through international knowledge exchange, policy-oriented discussions, and benchmarking against global standards. Key areas of focus include aviation, crisis response, technology adoption, and destination competitiveness, alongside strengthening collaboration between public and private stakeholders and supporting India’s visibility as a tourism destination.
