PHA Announces 8th National Housekeepers Convention for May

The Professional Housekeepers Association (PHA) has announced the 8th National Housekeepers Convention, scheduled to take place on 30 May 2026 at Eros Hotel.

The 2026 edition will be held under the theme “Stewards of Standards, reflecting the role of housekeeping leadership in maintaining quality, safety, and consistency within hospitality operations. The theme highlights responsibilities related to guest trust, asset protection, and sustainable practices, alongside the adoption of new technologies and evolving service expectations.

Titled “Leadership in the Art and Science of Housekeeping, the convention will explore the balance between guest-focused service elements such as attention to detail and aesthetics, and structured operational aspects including systems, hygiene protocols, technology, and performance measurement. The programme places emphasis on leadership as a key driver of service standards and operational efficiency.

The convention framework is guided by three focus areas—Care, Create, and Elevate—addressing responsibility towards people and environments, innovation in processes and tools, and continuous professional development within the housekeeping function.

The announcement follows the 7th National Housekeepers Convention, held in Bengaluru on 17 May 2025, which attracted more than 220 delegates including executive housekeepers, rooms division leaders, operations heads, and hospitality solution providers. The 2025 programme featured discussions on talent development, sustainability, operational efficiency, and the integration of technology in housekeeping operations.

Key takeaways from the previous edition included presentations on workforce management, case studies from hotel groups on operational practices, supplier-led showcases of housekeeping solutions, and sessions focused on skill development and career progression.

Building on this foundation, the 2026 convention will address topics such as AI-supported workflows, sustainability benchmarks, workforce training models, digital quality assurance, and process management in housekeeping and facilities operations. The event is expected to host over 300 participants, including housekeeping and operations leaders, procurement professionals, hospitality educators, and industry suppliers.

Jayashree Nagaraj, Founder President and Chairperson, PHA, commented: “Housekeeping has transitioned from a back-of-house function to a strategic pillar in hospitality operations. The overwhelming participation and quality of discourse at the 2025 Convention in Bangalore reaffirmed the industry’s commitment to excellence. In 2026, we aim to deepen this conversation with actionable insights and practical solutions tailored to modern operational realities.”

Bharti Singh Kalappa, Founder Member, National Vice President & VP Operations, PHA-North Chapter, added: “The New Delhi edition will extend the learning trajectory established in Bangalore, emphasizing operational innovation, sustainable practices, skill enhancement, and technologies that amplify housekeeping performance. We are curating an agenda that resonates with the challenges and aspirations of housekeeping leaders across hotel segments.
