Minimalist Hotels to Open Heritage Haveli Property in Udaipur
Minimalist Hotels Expands with Lake Pichola Heritage Stay in Udaipur
Minimalist Hotels is set to enter Udaipur with the launch of a boutique heritage property overlooking Lake Pichola by the end of May 2026.
Located on Bhimparmeshwar Marg, the upcoming property, named Minimalist – Lake Pichola Edit, is housed within Bawlas ki Haveli, a heritage structure dating back to 1820. The haveli was once gifted to a Rajput noble associated with the royal court of Mewar and was historically used to host guests during the princely era.
The property retains elements of traditional Rajasthani architecture, including terracotta walls, jharokhas, and heritage-inspired detailing, while being adapted for modern hospitality requirements.

The section now converted into the hotel was previously known as the Mardana Haveli, a space traditionally reserved for male guests during the period when the purdah system was followed. The restoration has preserved several architectural details connected to the building’s past.
Designed as an intimate boutique stay, the property will feature 18 rooms across categories, including the Maharaja Suite, Maharani Suite, Superior Twin, and Superior King. The interiors have been designed with a focus on comfort, simplicity, and functionality while maintaining the structure’s original character.
The hotel will also introduce Cabami, a rooftop restaurant and bar overlooking Lake Pichola and the Udaipur skyline. The venue is expected to offer dining and social experiences for both hotel guests and visitors.

Speaking about the launch, Gautam Munjal, Founder of Minimalist Hotels, said the property has been designed to reflect Udaipur’s cultural identity while aligning with the brand’s design-focused hospitality approach.
The opening marks the brand’s expansion into Rajasthan as Minimalist Hotels continues to grow its presence in India’s boutique hospitality segment, focusing on travellers seeking culturally connected and design-led stays.
