Michael Owen’s Football Camp Returns to Avani+ Fares Maldives in April 2026

Michael Owen’s Football Camp will return to Avani+ Fares Maldives Resort for a second year, running from 31 March to 3 April 2026 as part of the resort’s Easter holiday programme. Following its 2025 debut, the camp will once again bring children and teenagers together for football coaching sessions on Fares Island in Baa Atoll.

Designed for children aged 5 to 13, the four-day programme includes daily training sessions, skills-development activities, and team challenges led by Michael Owen. The camp concludes with a closing celebration where participants receive certificates, medals and signed jerseys. The programme is complimentary for guests staying at Avani+ Fares Maldives during the event, with each registered participant receiving an official football kit, including two customised jerseys, shorts and socks.

The 2026 Football Camp forms part of the resort’s wider Easter activities, combining organised sports sessions with relaxed island experiences. Outside the football programme, younger guests can participate in activities at AvaniKids and the Teens Club, which offer age-appropriate spaces, creative workshops, and group activities. Dining options for younger guests include Petit Bistro, the resort’s restaurant dedicated to children.

Located within the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve of Baa Atoll, Avani+ Fares Maldives offers families opportunities to explore marine life through snorkelling along the house reef, as well as a range of water sports and diving experiences available at the resort.

Commenting on the upcoming camp, Michael Owen said that returning to the resort follows the positive response from the first edition, adding that the camp focuses on helping children develop their skills, confidence and enjoyment of the game in a family-friendly environment.

Avani+ Fares Maldives offers a variety of accommodation options suited to families of different sizes. These include interconnecting Pavilion rooms, Beach Pool Villas with outdoor areas, overwater villas above the lagoon, and larger two- and three-bedroom Over Water Pool Residences designed for families travelling together.

Package rates start from USD 3,500 for a family of four, including accommodation, seaplane transfers and football camp registration. The package is for two adults and two children sharing a bed-and-breakfast basis and includes taxes and fees. For bookings, visit the resort’s website, email [email protected], or call +960 660 1660.
