MGallery Collection Opens South Palms Resort & Spa Panglao in the Philippines
MGallery Collection has launched its newest property in the Philippines: the South Palms Resort & Spa Panglao. This addition joins the Admiral Hotel Manila – MGallery Collection. Located along the coastline of Panglao Island, the resort harmoniously combines its natural surroundings with local culture, design, and wellness traditions.
A Coastal Retreat
Located between the Bohol Sea and coconut groves, the resort offers direct access to Panglao’s beaches and marine sites. At the same time, inland attractions such as the Chocolate Hills and tarsier sanctuaries remain within easy reach. Just ten minutes from Bohol-Panglao International Airport, it provides both convenience and seclusion.
Design and Living Spaces
Designed in collaboration with Patrick Keane of Enter Projects Asia, Patricia Ho of White Jacket, and Philip Pond of Atelier Pond, the resort reflects Bohol’s character through locally sourced materials such as bamboo, coconut wood, and woven Banig textures. Its 188 guest rooms and eight beachfront villas incorporate handcrafted furnishings, traditional motifs, and artisan-made details. Each villa is named after a Filipino “Diwata” and includes personalised touches such as sunset picnics and curated evening rituals.
Dining Experiences
The resort features several dining venues inspired by local heritage and global flavours. Tiya’s House reinterprets a traditional residence with Southeast Asian dishes, while Manja offers family-friendly Mediterranean cuisine. UMA presents an open-air market-style concept with fresh seafood and tropical produce, and Sirenna Bar highlights locally influenced cocktails. Guests may also enjoy beach barbecues, tastings, and private dining experiences.

Wellness and Activities
Lola’s Sanctuary, an open-air garden spa, incorporates local botanicals and body therapies. Guests can join sunrise yoga, explore herbal gardens, or use the fitness centre. Cultural and nature-based activities, including drumming evenings, artisan workshops, and storytelling rituals, connect visitors to the island’s traditions. For children, Aya’s Jungle provides interactive learning and play.
Signature M Moment
At Panglao, the M Moment centres on the heritage craft of Asin Tibuok, a rare artisanal salt. Guests work with a local craftsperson to learn the process, shape clay pots, and take home salt crystals as a memento of the experience.
Community Connections and Events
The property supports local orphanages, offering supplies, activities, and community engagement. Event spaces include the Acqua Pavilion for smaller gatherings, the Marcela Ballroom for up to 100 guests, and an expansive events lawn linked to a rooftop terrace, suitable for larger occasions.
