Marriott Signs Agreement with KS Hotels to Bring The Luxury Collection to Cambodia and Laos
Marriott International has signed an agreement with KS Hotels to introduce The Luxury Collection to Cambodia and Laos by converting two boutique properties: La Résidence Angkor in Siem Reap and La Résidence Phou Vao in Luang Prabang. The agreement will mark Marriott’s first hotel in Laos and the entry of The Luxury Collection brand in both countries.
Both hotels will undergo upgrades to align with The Luxury Collection brand standards while retaining their architectural design, cultural character, and heritage. Once integrated into the portfolio, the properties will join Marriott’s global network while continuing to reflect the local identity of their destinations.
Two Boutique Hotels to Join The Luxury Collection Portfolio
The first property to transition will be La Résidence Phou Vao, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, Luang Prabang, which is expected to debut in October 2026. Located on a hill overlooking the historic town, the resort sits within tropical gardens and offers views of temples and the Mekong River.
The resort is expected to feature 41 rooms and suites, each designed with traditional Lao craftsmanship and featuring private balconies or patios. Planned facilities include a restaurant, La Brasserie de la Résidence, offering French bistro dishes alongside Lao cuisine; an outdoor pool; a fitness centre; a yoga deck; a spa; meeting rooms; and a retail boutique.
Luang Prabang, located at the meeting point of the Mekong and Nam Khan rivers, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its preserved architecture and religious landmarks. The destination is served by Luang Prabang International Airport and Luang Prabang Railway Station.
The second property, La Résidence Angkor, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, Siem Reap, is scheduled to join the brand in October 2027. The low-rise hotel is located along the Siem Reap River near the gateway to Angkor Archaeological Park.
The resort is expected to include 59 guestrooms, including 14 suites and three residences with private outdoor pools. Dining plans include La Brasserie de La Résidence, a Khmer-inspired restaurant called Khmer Funk, a café, a cocktail lounge and a pool bar. Other facilities will include a spa with treatment rooms, hydrothermal amenities, an outdoor pool, a fitness centre and a function room.
Siem Reap–Angkor International Airport is located approximately 45 kilometres from the property.
Expanding The Luxury Collection Presence in Southeast Asia

After the rebranding process, both properties will join Marriott’s expanding presence in Southeast Asia. The addition of the two hotels will extend The Luxury Collection’s regional portfolio alongside existing properties in Thailand, Singapore, and Indonesia.
As part of the Marriott Bonvoy network, the hotels will also offer destination-focused experiences designed to connect guests with the local culture, history and traditions of Laos and Cambodia.
