Choice Hotels Launches MainStay Suites in Australia with Seven New Properties

Choice Hotels International is launching MainStay Suites in Australia. This marks the brand’s first expansion outside of North America. Seven hotels are scheduled to open in Melbourne, Whyalla, Mackay, and Townsville, adding a total of 581 rooms to the Choice Hotels portfolio.

This launch brings Choice Hotels’ total Australian portfolio to 7,487 rooms across 163 hotels, reinforcing its presence in the region. MainStay Suites offers apartment-style accommodations with fully equipped kitchens, living areas, laundry facilities, and dedicated workspaces, catering to business, healthcare, government, and project-based travellers.

The properties will participate in the Choice Privileges loyalty program, allowing members to earn and redeem points across more than 7,100 hotels worldwide.

The Australian launch is supported through a partnership with Extended STAY Australasia, leveraging local expertise and operational experience to deliver the extended stay model.

Choice Hotels continues to expand its international footprint, with recent growth across China, Japan, the Caribbean, Latin America, Canada, and France. This highlights the company’s focus on increasing its presence in key international markets and the extended stay segment.
