Kobe Airport Introduces Lounge KOBE for International Travellers

Kansai Airports has announced the opening of Lounge KOBE at Terminal 2 of Kobe Airport on 21 May 2026.

Located inside the international departure waiting area, the new airline lounge has been designed to reflect the character of Kobe through interior elements inspired by the city’s maritime identity and local culture. The lounge features Kobe tartan-patterned walls and carpets influenced by the sea, creating a space that reflects the atmosphere of the port city.

Lounge KOBE is intended to provide passengers with a comfortable environment before departure, while also introducing local food and regional dishes from Kobe and Hyogo Prefecture.

The facility will operate for all departing international flights, opening two-and-a-half hours before the first departure and closing after the final departure of the day.

The lounge will offer seating for 40 guests across 154.12 square metres. Interior design and construction have been handled by J.FRONT PRIME SPACE Co., Ltd.

According to Kansai Airports Kobe, the opening forms part of the group’s ongoing efforts to improve passenger convenience and enhance the travel experience at Kobe Airport.
