Holiday Inn Expands Greater China Portfolio with 24 New Hotel Signings

Holiday Inn, part of IHG Hotels & Resorts, has announced the signing of 24 new hotels across Greater China during its Hotel Owner Forum & Signing Ceremony in Beijing.

The newly signed properties will be developed across major cities and regional markets, catering to business travellers, families, leisure guests and extended-stay visitors. The expansion forms part of Holiday Inn’s continued growth strategy in the region.

Kent Sun, Chief Development Officer, IHG Greater China, said Holiday Inn has been part of the region’s hospitality sector for nearly 50 years and continues to adapt to changing traveller preferences and market requirements. He added that the latest signings reflect hotel owners’ confidence in the brand and IHG’s long-term development strategy in Greater China.

Expansion Across Key Markets

The new hotels will strengthen Holiday Inn’s presence in cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhanjiang, Yinchuan, Hulunbuir, Nanchang and Yichang.

Among the projects are Holiday Inn NECC Shanghai, located near the National Exhibition and Convention Center to serve business and MICE travellers, Holiday Inn Shanghai Caohejing in a technology and business district, Holiday Inn Beijing Haidian Xibeiwang, and Holiday Inn Shenzhen Dapeng Jiaochangwei, which will cater to leisure travellers along the coast.

Holiday Inn 3.0 Concept

IHG is also introducing the latest Holiday Inn 3.0 concept across future developments. The updated model focuses on more flexible public spaces, improved room layouts and operational efficiency while meeting the needs of business travellers, families and group guests.

The concept is designed to optimise space utilisation and support hotel operations across different market segments.

Supporting Future Growth

Holiday Inn’s expansion is supported by IHG’s development, operational and commercial platforms, along with IHG One Rewards, which has more than 160 million members worldwide.

Holiday Inn currently has more than 1,500 open and pipeline hotels globally, including 168 operating hotels and 106 pipeline hotels in Greater China. The company plans to continue expanding its presence across the region through new developments and product updates.
