JW Marriott Opens New Resort in Kaafu Atoll, Maldives, Welcoming Indian Travellers to a Mindful Island Retreat

JW Marriott Maldives Kaafu Atoll Island Resort, part of Marriott Bonvoy’s portfolio of over 30 hotel brands, has announced the opening of its new property in Kaafu Atoll, Maldives. This marks the second JW Marriott resort in the country. Located in Kaafu Atoll’s largest lagoon, just 15 minutes by boat from Velana International Airport, the resort provides a tranquil setting designed for rest and connection.

The resort features vegetarian and Indian dining options, family-oriented activities, and wellness experiences aimed at offering balance and comfort for travellers from India.

Recognizing India as a key market, JW Marriott Maldives Kaafu Atoll Island Resort has curated offerings to suit the preferences of Indian guests—whether couples, families, or groups of friends—through tailored dining, family programs, and attentive service.

The big interview: General manager of Emerald Resort Maldives Srikanth Devarapalli - Hotelier Middle East

“Indian travellers appreciate connection, authenticity, and comfort — qualities that align with our brand philosophy. With Indian dining choices, family-focused experiences, and personalized service, we hope to create meaningful stays for our guests.”

To strengthen its presence in India, the resort has appointed TAWI LUSH, led by Mrs. Simmi Pai and Mr. Satyeash Pai, as its official Sales and Public Relations representative in India. TAWI LUSH will support brand visibility, partnerships, and media outreach across major Indian cities.

The resort includes 80 villas — 47 overwater villas, 32 beach villas, and 1 overwater residence — all with private pools and views of the lagoon or ocean. The design blends Maldivian architecture with modern interiors, offering open spaces and privacy for guests. The Three-Bedroom Ocean Residence is suited for families or groups looking for a shared living experience with individual privacy.
