Indonesia AirAsia to Launch Bali–Da Nang International Route from March 2026
Indonesia AirAsia will begin 2026 with the launch of a new international route connecting Bali and Da Nang, with services scheduled to commence on 20 March 2026. The direct connection becomes the airline’s seventh international route from its Bali hub and is aimed at supporting tourism flows within Southeast Asia while improving travel access between the two destinations.

According to the Acting President Director of Indonesia AirAsia, Achmad Sadikin Abdurachman, the new service is designed to strengthen regional tourism connectivity by providing a direct link between Bali and Da Nang. He noted that with Vietnam added to AirAsia’s existing international connections from Bali—including destinations in Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Australia—travellers gain additional routing options across the ASEAN region.
The Bali–Da Nang service will also enhance connectivity between Indonesia and Vietnam through fly-thru options from Jakarta and Labuan Bajo to Da Nang via Bali. This routing allows travellers to plan multi-destination journeys within a single trip while remaining connected to Indonesia AirAsia’s wider international network from Bali, including services to Perth, Adelaide, and Melbourne from 20 March 2026.

Tourism data highlights growing travel exchanges between the two countries. Vietnam welcomed more than 19 million international visitors in the first eleven months of 2025, an increase of around 20.9% year-on-year, with Southeast Asia—including Indonesia—seeing 13.8% growth as a source market. During the same period, Indonesia received 13.9 million international visitors, including 80,313 travellers from Vietnam, indicating steady two-way tourism demand.
Da Nang, located on Vietnam’s central coast, has seen increased interest among travellers due to its beaches, urban environment, dining scene, and proximity to cultural destinations such as Hoi An and Hue. Bali continues to attract international visitors with its mix of cultural areas, such as Ubud, established beach destinations, including Kuta, Seminyak, and Nusa Dua, and natural attractions like Uluwatu and Nusa Penida, supported by extensive tourism infrastructure and air connectivity.

Indonesia AirAsia stated that the introduction of the Bali–Da Nang route is expected to support cross-border tourism and increase visitor movement between Indonesia and Vietnam.
All tickets for Indonesia AirAsia flights are available through the AirAsia MOVE app, the airasia.com website, online travel agents, and authorised travel agencies. Group bookings for 10 passengers or more can be arranged via AirAsia’s Group Desk. The airline also reminded passengers to comply with cabin baggage regulations, which allow one cabin bag with a maximum weight of 7 kg, and to ensure adherence to current travel requirements in line with applicable government regulations.
