Major Brands to Open Hotels in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad is the next big thing for hotel majors. In the next few years, more than a dozen new hotels will dot the Ahmedabad skyline as almost every large hotel brand is readying to open doors in the Gujarat capital.The Ahmedabad-Gandhinagar market has been growing like never before.

Taken as a whole, the state of Gujarat expects to open doors to 17 new luxury hotels and resorts proposed at different locations in the state. The setting up of these hotels and resort properties will bring an investment of Rs 4,340 crore into Gujarat over the next five years, if state government sources are to be believed.

The country’s first International Financial Services Centre (IFSC) at GIFT City near Gandhinagar is all set to see a luxury hotel shortly. The hotel will be the third property here besides the Grand Mercure and Gift City Club.
Developer, Kavyaratna Group has won the tender to build the five-star hotel project. The hotel will be a 30-floor building and will be built with an investment of around Rs 650 crore in the project.

Sheraton and Grand Sheraton are also likely coming up with a dual property along SP Ring Road in Ahmedabad. In the coming five years, several new brands are setting foot in Ahmedabad. The city is expected to get about 5000 more hotel rooms in the next few years as travel to the state booms.

Marriott International is also set to bring its premium Le Meridien brand to the city by renovating an existing property in Ahmedabad’s Ramdevnagar area. Sheraton and Grand Sheraton are also likely coming up with also likely coming up with a dual property along SP Ring Road.

Since 2020, Ahmedabad has witnessed the launch of several new properties including the Leela in Gandhinagar, Taj Skyline, ITC Narmada, Courtyard by Marriott on Sindhu Bhavan Road and Vivanta by Taj amongst others.
