Kimpton, part of IHG Hotels & Resorts’ portfolio, has opened Kimpton Los Monteros Marbella, reviving one of Spain’s most distinguished hotels. Originally opened in 1962, Los Monteros set a benchmark in hospitality on Costa del Sol, becoming the first hotel in Spain to receive a Michelin Star. Now, following a renovation, the luxury lifestyle brand has reimagined its legacy, blending grandeur with contemporary luxury to offer guests dining, wellness, and design experiences.

Located in Marbella’s most exclusive enclave just 500 metres from the Mediterranean, the resort features 195 rooms, including 60 suites, many with private terraces and sea views. The transformation to Kimpton Los Monteros artfully marries elements of history with contemporary flair. Crafted by the Barcelona-based interior design team El Equipo Creativo, which has garnered more than 70 international accolades, the hotel's composition draws inspiration from Marbella's rich cultural heritage. It seamlessly integrates geometric patterns, terracotta tiles, and flowing organic curves to foster a welcoming ambiance. The guest rooms, designed by the renowned Cristina Carulla Studio, feature natural materials and vivid colour accents, capturing the essence of the Mediterranean lifestyle while offering views of the sea.

Kimpton Los Monteros is also a premier venue for meetings and events. With 5,000 square metres of outdoor space and 700 square metres of spaces including a ballroom for up to 250 guests, a rooftop, and the exclusive beach club – the hotel is perfect for weddings and private gatherings.
