IHG Makes Ujjain Debut with Holiday Inn Signing

IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced a management agreement with Peachery LLP to open Holiday Inn Ujjain. The new hotel will open in 2028 and is part of IHG’s strategy to expand its presence in high-growth secondary markets throughout India.

A major Hindu pilgrimage centre, Ujjain is renowned for hosting the Kumbh Mela, with the next event set for 2028. The city is also home to the famous Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga temple, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas shrines respected as sacred abodes of Shiva, making it a significant attraction for pilgrims. With over 70 years of hospitality, Holiday Inn is set to launch in Ujjain and offer stay experiences tailored to spiritual travellers and those celebrating weddings in the culturally rich city.

The Holiday Inn Ujjain will offer 100 rooms, including 10 suites, and various dining options, such as an all-day dining area, a lounge bar, and a speciality restaurant. The hotel will feature a banquet hall along with five meeting venues for events and meetings, making it an ideal choice for social gatherings. Leisure amenities, including a swimming pool and fitness centre, will ensure that guests enjoy a comfortable and relaxing stay.

IHG currently operates 46 hotels in India across six brands: Six Senses, InterContinental Hotels and Resorts, Crowne Plaza, voco, Holiday Inn Resort, and Holiday Inn Express. Additionally, there is a robust pipeline of 58 hotels expected to open in the next 3 to 5 years.
