Apeejay Surrendra Park Hotels Limited (ASPHL) has announced the opening of The Lotus Palace Chettinad in Tamil Nadu, a heritage hotel within The Park Collection brand. Located in Kanadukathan, known as the Town of Palaces and situated near Karaikudi, this architectural marvel has been conserved and restored by ASPHL. It is believed to have been built in the late 17th century, and its architecture is deeply rooted in the Chettiar legacy.

Chettinad, meaning “Land of the Chettiars,” is a region in southeastern Tamil Nadu that originally comprised over 96 towns. It is famous for its many Chola and Pandya temples, making it one of India’s most attractive heritage travel destinations.

Guests can enjoy views of the village rooftops from the Sunset Terrace while watching the sky fill with colours as day transitions to night. They can also relax in an atmosphere that reflects the rich history of the Palace. Architect Kaushik Mukherjee designed this space to showcase the charm of a traditional Chettinad home while providing the modern luxury and conveniences that today’s travellers seek.
