Hilton Expands DoubleTree by Hilton Portfolio Across Africa with Three New Signings
Hilton has announced the signing of three new DoubleTree by Hilton properties across Africa, strengthening the brand’s presence in North, West and Central Africa. The new hotels will be developed in Morocco, Togo and the Republic of Congo, marking Hilton’s entry into the Togolese market and further expanding its development pipeline on the continent, which now exceeds 100 hotels.

Carlos Khneisser, Chief Development Officer, Middle East & Africa, Hilton, said that Africa’s business centres, cultural assets and natural diversity continue to support long-term hospitality growth. He added that the new DoubleTree by Hilton signings reflect Hilton’s focus on building scale across key African markets through local partnerships and on-the-ground development teams.
DoubleTree by Hilton Lomé Airport, Togo
DoubleTree by Hilton Lomé Airport will mark Hilton’s debut in Togo. Developed in partnership with SODEXH SA, the hotel is located opposite Lomé International Airport and will be the country’s first internationally branded airport hotel.
The property will feature 165 guest rooms and suites, a signature restaurant, a lobby café, an outdoor swimming pool, a spa, and a fitness centre. Meeting and events facilities will include a ballroom and three meeting rooms, catering primarily to business travellers and transit guests, with convenient access to Lomé’s commercial and cultural districts.
DoubleTree by Hilton Kintele, Republic of Congo
Located in Brazzaville’s developing Kintele district, DoubleTree by Hilton Kintele will offer 200 guest rooms and suites along with leisure facilities including a fitness centre, tennis court, spa and beauty salon. Dining options will include a lobby bar and terrace, pool bar, and two speciality restaurants overlooking the Congo River.
A key feature of the development is a large conference and events centre spanning 75,000 square metres, including an auditorium for up to 1,500 guests, banquet halls, a VIP lounge and a museum hall. The hotel, signed with Société d’Exploitation et de Développement des Infrastructures du Congo, is expected to open in 2026. It will complement Hilton’s existing presence in the city, including Hilton Brazzaville Les Tours Jumelles Hotel & Residences.
DoubleTree by Hilton Marrakech La Palmeraie, Morocco
DoubleTree by Hilton Marrakech La Palmeraie will be located in Marrakech’s Palmeraie district and is scheduled to open in 2028. The resort-style property will comprise 228 guest rooms and suites set amid landscaped gardens.
Facilities will include an all-day dining restaurant, lobby café, pool bar and two speciality restaurants, along with swimming pools for adults and children, a gym, spa and paddle court. The hotel will also feature a ballroom and meeting rooms, with convenient access to Marrakech’s historic areas and traditional souks.
This signing adds to Hilton’s growing pipeline in Morocco, which includes 16 planned hotels, among them Waldorf Astoria Rabat Salé and Hampton by Hilton Ben Guerir.
The three new properties will join DoubleTree by Hilton’s global portfolio of more than 700 hotels across 61 countries and territories. Hilton continues to expand the brand’s footprint in Africa, building on recent DoubleTree by Hilton signings in Angola, Ethiopia and Morocco.
