Hilton Expands Malaysia Portfolio with Burau Bay Resort

Hilton has announced the opening of Hilton Burau Bay Langkawi Resort, expanding its flagship brand in Malaysia with a new beachfront property on Langkawi Island.

Located between the tropical rainforest of Mount Mat Cincang and the Andaman Sea, the resort has been designed for travellers seeking a stay that combines nature, relaxation, and leisure.

Spread across nearly 22 acres, the resort features 251 guestrooms and suites, each with a private terrace or balcony overlooking the rainforest, mountains or the sea. The accommodation includes Terrace Rooms, Deluxe Rooms and Executive Suites, with connecting room options available for families and group travellers.

The resort offers four dining venues. Gingerfire serves Asian and international cuisine throughout the day, while Haliya Lounge offers coffee and light refreshments. MINGZHU specialises in Yunnan-inspired cuisine, and Trattoria Mare serves Italian dishes in a beachfront setting.

Guests can access a range of wellness and recreation facilities, including the eforea Spa, which features outdoor sauna barrels, a salt room and treatment areas inspired by Langkawi’s natural surroundings. Additional facilities include three swimming pools, five rock pools, a fitness centre, tennis, pickleball and basketball courts, and a Kids’ Club with daily activities.

Nature-based experiences are also available through the resort’s Nature Centre, offering guided rainforest walks and opportunities to explore Langkawi’s biodiversity.

For meetings and events, the resort provides more than 5,400 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space. Facilities include the Orchid Grand Ballroom, which accommodates up to 210 guests, meeting rooms and outdoor venues overlooking the beach and surrounding rainforest.

The opening forms part of Hilton’s continued expansion in Malaysia, joining recent additions including Hilton Shah Alam Glenmarie and Hilton Garden Inn Kota Kinabalu Tuaran. The company also plans to open Waldorf Astoria Kuala Lumpur and Conrad Kuala Lumpur later this year.

Hilton Burau Bay Langkawi Resort is part of the Hilton Honors loyalty programme, allowing members to earn and redeem points while enjoying member benefits across Hilton’s global portfolio.
