Etihad Airways Launches New Salalah Flights from Abu Dhabi
Salalah Route Expands Etihad Airways Network in Oman
Etihad Airways has launched direct flights between Abu Dhabi and Salalah, expanding the airline’s regional network and strengthening connectivity between the UAE and Oman.
The inaugural flight to Salalah operated on 21 May 2026, with the route initially launching with two weekly flights before increasing to five weekly services from 15 June during Oman’s Khareef season.
The new route marks Etihad Airways’ second destination in Oman after Muscat, where the airline has operated services for two decades.
With a flight time of under two hours, the service is aimed at both leisure and regional travellers looking to access Salalah’s coastal landscapes, mountains and seasonal tourism attractions.

Antonoaldo Neves, Chief Executive Officer of Etihad Airways, said the launch reflects the airline’s continued focus on improving regional connectivity and supporting tourism demand across Oman.
The route also strengthens connections for travellers arriving in Abu Dhabi from Europe, Asia and India through Etihad’s international network.
Salalah becomes part of the airline’s wider seasonal network expansion for summer 2026, which also includes destinations such as Krakow, Palma de Mallorca and Zanzibar.
