Eco Hotels and Resorts Opens New Property in Ayodhya
Eco Hotels and Resorts Limited has announced the opening of a new hotel in Ayodhya, extending its presence in one of India’s burgeoning religious tourism destinations. The development is part of the company’s strategy to bolster its position in pilgrimage and cultural travel markets while continuing to focus on sustainable hospitality practices.
Ayodhya has witnessed a steady increase in visitor numbers in recent years, driven in part by the development of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple and improvements in infrastructure and connectivity. According to available data, the city recorded 57.5 million visitors in 2023, rising to over 160 million in 2024, and more than 230 million pilgrims visited during the first half of 2025.
The rise in tourism has contributed to economic activity across the region, supporting sectors such as small businesses, handicrafts, transport services and local employment.
Eco Hotels and Resorts’ newly launched property is designed to serve travellers visiting the city. The hotel features 33 guest rooms, along with a rooftop restaurant, a landscaped lawn, and a swimming pool.
The hotel’s restaurant, “Sahar — Back to the Roots,” focuses on vegetarian cuisine inspired by traditional dietary practices. The menu includes satvik food prepared without onion and garlic, along with gluten-free breakfast options.
Located around five kilometres from the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, the property offers direct access to major road networks, making it accessible for pilgrims and cultural travellers visiting the city.
The company has also incorporated sustainability measures into the property, including resource-efficient operations and responsible energy management, in line with its environmentally conscious hospitality approach.

The opening also reflects the increasing demand for organised hospitality infrastructure in emerging pilgrimage destinations. As Ayodhya continues to attract visitors, the need for hotels that combine accessibility, comfort and sustainable operations has grown.
Commenting on the launch, Vinod Kumar Tripathi, Chairman of Eco Hotels and Resorts Limited, said the company views Ayodhya as an important destination within India’s tourism landscape. He noted that the hotel forms part of the company’s plans to expand into spiritual and cultural destinations while implementing environmentally responsible practices.
With this addition, Eco Hotels and Resorts continues to expand its hospitality portfolio in Uttar Pradesh, which includes brands such as The Eco, The Eco Grand, EcoXpress, The Eco Boutique and EcoValue.
