Dusit International appoints Marc Handl as Managing Director of Dusit Thani Bangkok

Marc Handl to lead flagship hotel and residential components at Dusit Central Park

Dusit International has appointed Marc Handl as Managing Director of Dusit Thani Bangkok, the group’s redeveloped hotel located overlooking Lumpini Park in central Bangkok.

The role also includes oversight of Dusit Residences and Dusit Parkside, two residential developments that form part of the wider Dusit Central Park project. The mixed-use development includes a hotel, residences, retail space, offices and a rooftop park.

Leadership experience across global hospitality markets

Handl brings more than 30 years of experience in the hospitality sector, with a background spanning luxury hotels, resorts and mixed-use developments. His career includes senior roles with brands such as Park Hyatt, The Ritz-Carlton, Aman and Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, across Asia, the Middle East and the Americas.

He joins from Abu Dhabi National Hotels, where he managed a portfolio of properties across multiple international brands, gaining experience in multi-asset operations and asset management.

Focus on operations and brand positioning

With a professional foundation in food and beverage, Handl has developed expertise across operations, sales and marketing, and multi-property management. His international background is expected to support a leadership approach aligned with global traveller expectations.

Role aligned with Dusit’s development plans

His appointment comes as Dusit continues to develop Dusit Central Park, following the reopening of Dusit Thani Bangkok in September 2024 after redevelopment.

Dusit International is also preparing for the phased introduction of its residential offerings, Dusit Residences and Dusit Parkside, which will provide different formats of urban living within the same development.

According to Handl, the role presents an opportunity to build on the hotel’s heritage while contributing to its positioning within Bangkok’s hospitality landscape.
