Delay on Mumbai–Krabi IndiGo Flight Leads to Passenger Disruptions
An IndiGo flight operating from Mumbai to Krabi experienced disruptions following a prolonged delay, which resulted in confrontations between some passengers and cabin crew and led to the removal of two travellers from the aircraft.
The incident occurred on IndiGo flight 6E 1085, scheduled to depart Mumbai at 4.05 am on Thursday. The flight eventually departed more than three hours later than planned, leading to a delayed arrival in Krabi. Flight tracking data indicated that the aircraft, originally expected to land at 10.00 am, touched down at approximately 1.00 pm.

Videos shared on social media showed tense exchanges inside the cabin during the delay, with a few passengers expressing frustration over the situation. IndiGo later clarified that the delay was caused by multiple operational factors, including the late arrival of the incoming aircraft, air traffic congestion, and crew duty time limitations. The airline stated that all decisions were taken in accordance with safety regulations and standard aviation protocols.
IndiGo confirmed that two passengers were declared unruly due to inappropriate behaviour during the waiting period and were deboarded and handed over to security authorities, contributing to additional delays. The airline also noted that meals and refreshments were served multiple times to passengers during the extended wait to help reduce inconvenience.
In a statement, IndiGo said it regretted the disruption to travel plans and reiterated its commitment to maintaining a safe and respectful environment for passengers and crew.
