Berkeley Richmond Begins New Chapter with Outset Collection

The Berkeley Richmond has officially joined Outset Collection by Hilton, marking a new phase for the long-standing hotel in Richmond’s historic Shockoe Slip district.

The property, known for its connection to the city’s downtown hospitality scene, has undergone a full renovation covering its 55 guest rooms and public areas. The update introduces refreshed interiors while retaining the building’s historic identity and local character.

Located in the centre of Shockoe Slip, the hotel continues to offer access to Richmond’s riverfront attractions, restaurants, cafés, galleries and cultural venues. Guests staying at the property can also explore nearby landmarks, including the Virginia State Capitol and the James River trails.

Originally opened during the revitalisation of Shockoe Slip, The Berkeley Richmond has remained part of the neighbourhood’s hospitality landscape for many years. Its addition to Outset Collection by Hilton brings the property into Hilton’s growing lifestyle hotel portfolio while maintaining its independent identity.

Nick Patel, CEO of Kalyan Hospitality, said the partnership allows the hotel to continue its connection with the local community while benefiting from Hilton’s wider network and guest services.

The redesign introduces updated décor with bronze finishes, wood textures and neutral tones across guest spaces. The hotel’s castle-inspired architecture and redbrick exterior remain part of the property’s original design character.

The hotel also introduced Parlor Bistro, a new dining venue led by local restaurateurs Adam and Luong Betz. The restaurant serves American comfort dishes with Vietnamese influences, including bánh mì, soups, and salads, alongside Vietnamese coffee.

For meetings and social events, the property includes conference rooms, ballroom spaces and the renovated Governor’s Suite, featuring city views and private terraces suitable for private gatherings and business functions.

The Berkeley Richmond is now accepting reservations as part of Outset Collection by Hilton and also participates in the Hilton Honors loyalty programme.
