Air India plans to improve the flying experience on its twice-daily flights between Delhi and London Heathrow starting September 1, 2024. The A350-900 will replace the current Boeing 777-300ER and Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner on 14 out of 17 weekly flights, adding 336 seats per week on the Delhi-London Heathrow route.

As per the official press release, Air India aims to upgrade 90 percent of its flights to London Heathrow by September. In April 2024, the airline began using upgraded Boeing 777-300ERs on its Mumbai-London Heathrow route, featuring enhanced cabin interiors and reintroducing First class on the London Heathrow-Mumbai leg. This makes Air India the only carrier offering First-class options between these cities and between the UK and India.

Air India recently refurbished two new A320neo aircraft, VT-RTW and VT-RTZ, in a three-class layout with 8 sumptuous seats in Business, 24 extra legroom seats in Premium Economy, and 132 comfy seats in Economy and will introduce a Premium Economy class with the A350-900 for the first time on the Delhi-London Heathrow route. The class will provide 24 spacious seats in a dedicated upscale cabin layout. Passengers on Air India’s A350 flights can look forward to new soft products and guest enhancements unveiled this year, including new chinaware, tableware, glassware, bedding, and updated amenity kits designed exclusively by Ferragamo and TUMI for Business and Premium Economy guests.
