Andruw Jones Honoured with Gate Dedication at Atlanta Airport

Delta Air Lines and the Atlanta Braves have dedicated Gate A25 at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport to former Braves centre fielder Andruw Jones, recognising his contribution to the team and the city of Atlanta.

The dedication ceremony took place at Terminal A, where Jones was joined by leaders from Delta and the Atlanta Braves for a ribbon-cutting event and the unveiling of a permanent commemorative plaque at Gate A25. The gate also features Delta and Braves memorabilia from the 1990s and early 2000s, reflecting Jones’ years with the club.

Jones wore jersey number 25 throughout his career with the Braves and spent 12 seasons with the team before being inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2026.

Ed Bastian, Chief Executive Officer of Delta Air Lines, said the gate dedication recognizes Jones’ contribution to baseball and Atlanta, adding that the airline is pleased to honour his career with a permanent tribute.

Partnership Between Delta and the Braves

The ceremony also highlighted Delta’s long-standing relationship with the Atlanta Braves, which began when the franchise moved to Atlanta in 1966. Earlier this year, the partnership was extended through the 2035 season, with Delta continuing as the club’s Official Airline Partner.

Over the years, Delta has transported the team for away fixtures while supporting fan experiences at Truist Park, including the Delta SKY360° Club and the Delta Parking Deck.

The airline has also recognised several Braves figures through commemorative aircraft, including Hank Aaron, Bobby Cox and Chipper Jones, as well as a special aircraft celebrating the club’s 2021 World Series title.

The dedication of Gate A25 adds another chapter to the long-standing partnership between Delta Air Lines and the Atlanta Braves, while recognising Andruw Jones’ contribution to the team’s history.
