American Airlines Recognizes Flight Attendants Supporting UNICEF Change for Good
American Airlines recently honoured nine flight attendants as Champions of the Year for their dedication to the UNICEF Change for Good (CFG) program. These volunteers, referred to as Champions for Children, collect both U.S. and foreign currency from passengers on international and Hawaii flights to support UNICEF’s global initiatives for children.
Since the program began in 1994, American Airlines and its customers have contributed more than $18 million to UNICEF through Change for Good. These funds have supported UNICEF’s initiatives by:
Delivering vaccines and medicines to prevent diseases
Providing nutritional support to address malnutrition
Supplying clean water and sanitation facilities
Supporting education programs and safe learning environments
Assisting emergency response efforts following disasters and conflicts
Each contribution collected on board helps UNICEF reach children in more than 190 countries with essential health, education, and protection services.
