American Airlines Updates Main Cabin Meals and Snacks

Passengers can now choose from a new “Inflight Bites” snack box, available for purchase using cash or AAdvantage miles.

American Main Cabin Menu Expands with Snacks and Meals

American Airlines has introduced updates to its inflight dining in the Main Cabin, adding a wider range of snacks and meal options on select flights from 1 May. The changes form part of the airline’s broader service updates as it marks its centennial year.

Passengers can now choose from a new “Inflight Bites” snack box, available for purchase using cash or AAdvantage miles. The box includes a mix of savoury and sweet items such as beef jerky, crackers, olives, granola bars, biscuits, cashews, and a cheese spread, offering a variety of options during the flight.

American Airlines has also partnered with NUTS ON CLARK, a family-run business based in Chicago, to introduce regionally inspired snacks. This includes roasted salted mixed nuts, alongside other packaged options such as BOOMCHICKAPOP sweet and salty kettle corn.

Expanded Meal Options Onboard

For passengers seeking more substantial options, the updated fruit and cheese tray includes Tillamook cheeses, along with fresh and dried fruit, nuts, crackers, honey, and chocolate. The option is designed to provide a balanced meal alternative during the journey.

From 1 June, additional menu items will be introduced on select routes within the United States, Canada, the Caribbean, and Mexico. These include a turkey and Havarti sandwich served on avocado bread with spinach, red pepper, and a mustard-based spread, accompanied by crisps and a dessert item.

Payment and Accessibility

Passengers can purchase onboard food and beverages using contactless payment methods or redeem AAdvantage miles. Membership to the AAdvantage programme is available at no cost, offering access to additional benefits including inflight connectivity on select aircraft.

The updated dining options reflect a continued focus on providing American Airlines passengers with more choice and flexibility during their journey.
