The third edition of RedGames Jam made its return this year, with Team Glep earning the grand prize—an all-expenses-paid trip to the 2025 Tokyo Game Show. Their win was part of the broader AirAsia Dream It: Vol. 2 experience, which recently concluded in Kuala Lumpur.

Having participated in the previous edition, Team Glep returned with a stronger entry to take the top spot this year. Their winning game, Tappy’s Time Off, is based on AirAsia’s IP, AirAsia Buds, and follows Tappy the Tapir as he balances quirky office antics while secretly planning a dream vacation. The game is expected to be available on AirAsia MOVE via the ‘RedGames’ tile.

Hosted by AirAsia over the past three years, RedGames Jam continues to spotlight regional game development talent. This year’s event was integrated into the Dream It initiative, which supports Southeast Asia’s growing gaming community and aligns with AirAsia’s “The Colour of Connection” campaign.

Izal Azlee, Head of IP Development at AirAsia brand co. (Abc.), commented:

“This year saw one of our most engaged communities yet. From partners like SEGA to support from institutions like Asia Pacific University, we continue creating platforms for emerging game developers to explore global opportunities like the Tokyo Game Show.”

Team Glep’s lead, Kenny Yeow, added:

“We’re thrilled by this opportunity and grateful to AirAsia for empowering aspiring developers like us. RedGames Jam has opened doors we didn’t think were possible.”

Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Tan Chin Ike, Head of School at Asia Pacific University (APU), said:

“This partnership provides real-world exposure to young developers—helping them build skills, confidence, and industry connections.”

The first runner-up, Team LOGIC – Greybox from Binus University, Indonesia, received cash prizes, AirAsia merchandise, and tickets to gamescom asia x Thailand Game Show, including return flights to Bangkok. Alongside the top 10 finalists, they will also present their work at Level Up KL, a prominent Southeast Asian game developers conference by MDEC.

RedGames Jam continues to serve as an entry point into the Dream It initiative—supporting creativity, collaboration, and career growth through hands-on opportunities and cultural exposure.
